This highly interactive day included dedicated CERT volunteers acting as instructors and mentors and a visit from Southern Marin Fire. Students learnt a range of skills including fire suppression, first-aid, search and rescue and took part in two disaster simulations.

]]> A key component of dealing with a disaster is dealing with people. Thanks to Nancy Haugen PhD, a long time CERT and Marin County resident, CERTS were invited to attend an Advanced Disaster Psychology class at the Marin Wildfire Protection Office in San Rafael.

Nancy delivered a highly engaging and interactive presentation to our CERTs. We look forward to offering this class again in the Fall. Thank you Nancy!

There is no charge to complete the CERT training in Marin County. All participants must be aged 15 and over. Register here
